Suitable materials
2-, 5-, 6- and 7-series aluminum alloys; die-cast aluminum, aluminum profiles and non-standard aluminum; 200- and 300-series stainless steels.
High-Lubricity Semi-Synthetic Fluid for Medium- to Heavy-Duty Machining
BY680 is a high-lubricity semi-synthetic cutting fluid for medium- to heavy-duty machining of aluminum alloys and stainless steels. It provides resistance to bacterial growth, good tapping performance and foam control for high-load CNC machining in machines with individual sumps.

Fluid life in individual sumps can exceed 2 years
High lubricity for medium- to heavy-duty machining
Resists bacterial growth and odor development
Excellent tapping performance on aluminum alloys
High-molecular-weight siloxane foam-control system
2-, 5-, 6- and 7-series aluminum alloys; die-cast aluminum, aluminum profiles and non-standard aluminum; 200- and 300-series stainless steels.
Maintain a working fluid refractometer reading of 7-18. Readings below 7 can promote bacterial growth and fluid deterioration; readings above 18 may increase skin irritation.
| Machining load | Working fluid refractometer reading | Mixing ratio (concentrate : water) | Daily top-up fluid |
|---|---|---|---|
| Medium duty | 8-12 | 1:10 - 1:6 | Daily top-up: refractometer reading 5-7 |
| Heavy duty | 12-18 | 1:6 - 1:4 | Daily top-up: refractometer reading 7-10 |
Base oil, rust inhibitor, emulsifier, lubricant, extreme-pressure additive, high-performance corrosion inhibitor, auxiliary additives, biocide and deionized water. The formulation contains no nitrite ions, hexavalent chromium ions, sodium nitrite or phenol.
Gradual color darkening during storage is normal and does not affect use. The high-molecular-weight siloxane foam-control component may settle during prolonged storage; this does not affect use. Do not mix with other oils.
